Why measure employee commitment?
You know your employees are valuable. You also know they require a lot of investment - they are expensive to recruit, to train and to retain. But do you know what makes them stay with you and what makes them want to leave? Are you aware of what drives them and what demotivates them? Can you separate how they feel about the company they work for from the way they feel about the type of work that they do? EmployeeScore™ has the answers.
EmployeeScore is our new ground-breaking approach to measuring employee commitment. We recognise that it is not enough to measure whether an employee is satisfied. Satisfied employees leave companies and dissatisfied ones stay. By measuring commitment, we are using the most reliable measure of future employee behaviour - we are looking at the psychological attachment the employee has with both the company they work for and the type of work they do.
What are the benefits of EmployeeScore?
- TNS ensures employee buy-in. Experience has shown that employee surveys are best carried out independently by research agencies rather than by employers themselves. Frequently employees do not answer a company's own surveys accurately as they fear being identified by the employer and their answers held against them.
- TNS ensures manager buy-in. We also ensure that managers and supervisors 'buy into' the EmployeeScore survey's objectives, otherwise they may not encourage employees to complete the survey. Sometimes managers can 'hijack' an employee survey if they feel it is not useful or they feel threatened. Often employees will not complete the survey if they have not received an 'okay' from their managers.
- Grounded in theory and extensively validated. EmployeeScore is powered by the world's leading measure of commitment, Conversion Model™, validated worldwide in over 4,500 studies, and used by over 90 multi-nationals in 100 countries.
- Measures work group commitment. EmployeeScore™ goes beyond just analysing employee commitment to the company as a whole as the results can be broken down to 'work group' level as well. A work group could be a team or department and involve groups of as few as 10 employees. This means we can precisely pinpoint the key issues facing different areas of a company and identify areas for improvement.
- Normative database for benchmarking. The normative database allows 'normative benchmarking' of EmployeeScore survey results against averages by: country, industry, size of company, and turnover. This means you can put your results in context against averages in a particular market or country to see where you may need to improve.
- Mixed data collection methods. The EmployeeScore survey can be conducted using a mixture of Internet, postal and telephone data collection methods. Where the majority of your employees have access to the Internet, EmployeeScore can be run entirely online (EmployeeScore™ Online).
- Tailored reporting. Presentations can be made to suit all levels within your company, and work-group level reports are available to all managers who can then disseminate the information and lead action-planning initiatives.
